Time For Halloween Party Costumes
It’s that time of year again–time to choose your Halloween party costumes.
If you’ve ever had to throw together a Halloween costume at the last minute, you know just how hectic it can be. Not to mention unsuccessful. Dressing up, even once you’re an adult, can be the best part of Halloween. But all that fun goes out the window when you’re stuck with a costume that you don’t like, or is incomplete. Don’t put off your Halloween costume planning and shopping!
First, of course, the hard part–deciding what to be. One option that remains ever popular for all ages is choosing a character from television, movies, or video games. You can be the hero for the night, or the charming damsel… Or even the villain, if you so desire.
Younger boys this year are likely to be interested in Mario Bros. Inspired gear, while little girls will be eyeing Disney Princess and Tinkerbell costumes. Hannah Montana will be popular with tween girls, and boys their age will be all about Batman. Teen girls will be likely to gravitate towards costumes they feel stylish in… The eclectic look of this year’s Alice and Wonderland costumes will be very popular with this age group. Teen boys are more interested in humorous costumes, so whimsical choices like the M&Ms characters are a good option.
Retro characters will make great Halloween party costumes for grown-up kids… Many retro shows and movies have made a comeback, either in their original forms or as remakes and sequels. These costumes will have a lot of appeal for those of us who got to know the characters the first time around. Star Trek, The Muppets, Wizard of Oz, and Grease: The Musical character costumes are just a few of the many fun options.
Of course, there are more costumes than just characters to choose from. Thanks to the current popularity of some all-time Halloween favorites, like vampires and werewolves, we’re going to see a lot of those this year. Another theme that’s still getting a lot of attention is pirates.
The best Halloween party costumes aren’t good just because they’re based on a popular theme. Customizing your costume to be your very own is a key part of the fun. Making a familiar costume idea into something unexpected can be one way to do this. Ladies, for example, can dress as a clown–but make it a sultry, sexy clown. Or choose a school girl costume, but make her a zombie schoolgirl.
Whatever you choose, don’t put it off. As Halloween gets closer many costumes and costume elements will start to sell out. Don’t get stuck with a costume from the bottom of the barrel.
Besides, why put it off? Planning your costume is something to enjoy and look forward to. The sooner you start planning, the better your costume will be. Search online for new ideas, and for good places to shop.
Whatever you decide on, have fun choosing among the great Halloween party costumes available.
